To celebrate the auspicious occasion of the 30th anniversary of enforcing the Consumer Protection Act and to disseminate the annual Consumer Protection Day on the 30th of April, Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB), in conjunction with Health Consumer Protection Project, is hosting Consumer Protection Day 2009. Taking "30 Years of OCPB’s Concern for Safety and Rights of Thai Consumer" as its theme, the event is scheduled for April 29-30, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at QSNCC.
An exhibition of products and services in daily life that undermine consumer safety, including counterfeit and prohibited products & services, will be included. There will also be seminars on different aspects of the new consumer protection act. Visitors will also see how safe schools and restaurants provide role models for good consumer protection practices, including food that is as safe and healthy as it is delightful to taste. Consumers who visit the event are also invited to drop off their complaints and take advantage of consumer advisory services offered by over 50 government sectors, associations, foundations and private sectors related to consumer protection who will be present.
